April 3rd, Afternoon reached Dwarak's home. It was 40inch LED Samsung TV with Zdish where we witnessed Indians crowned as champions!
With dwarak family, joined 4 of us. I also thank dwarak sister who provided us delicous lunch and supper, and coke, chips, during the match progression (I really dont remember what i ate during the match).
Match started off Sangakarra cheating the toss to win and elected to bat first( Yes, he deserves this loss!!).
At the initial stage Indians bowling attack and fielding performance was @ top notch. We thought its going to be a easy chase for India. However thanks to Lankans former captain Jayawardene who helped to put up a descent target and made second innings interesting.
Disaster start for Indian innings. Lost early wickets of sehwag and Sachin. Then, came the controversial out of for Indian captain MS.DHONI. Every one of us shouted "WHY THE HELL IS HE IN @ 5??" Where Yuvi is supposed to come. Dhoni was doing his as usual job of rotating singles. On the other side Gambhir was having a excellent work cup final. Unfortunately he missed his century because of a poor shot selection.
But, the out of form Dhoni was in full form. He managed to go for boundaries when ever the chance comes. It was Dhoni's day. His partnership with Gambhir was the base. No one even god would have imagined Dhoni would go for Six when scoreboard displayed 4 to win in 12 balls. But, Yes Dhoni finished things off in style. He proved everyone wrong. He become the only captain to make a team win T20 WC, WC, and all the cups you name which India participated under him.
Once after the India lifted the cup, i returned to my room where happend to see lots of crackers and lots of people riding with indian flag and waving hands towards me shouting "INDIA ARE THE WORLD CHAMPIONS!!!"
