One fine Saturday!

Unlike usual weekends, I considered to do something different and Cognizant screamed "Dude, Stay away at least on the weekends". Well there was no mail or anyone saying it, it’s just that I clearly felt it.

Had a work I should have completed some months back, but since it was not that important (or say due to my sluggishness) the task was delayed then postponed, this was really burning inside my mind that I have to do it one day or other. So, on a fine Thursday it hit me "Why not carry out it this Saturday?” I am not going home, No huge plans, Why not? 

On the following Saturday started from home in my Unicorn, and the Sun issued the word of warning and begged not to leave. Temperature must be 50 degree Celsius or something. But, this did not stop me. I was so much resolute to work that day (No idea why!). Had lunch around 1 in the afternoon outside MEPZ and entered office by 13.30. Now, I saw my block (Only my block (sigh!)) was completely sealed as if some accident has happened. I never have seen my place of work like that before. Then, there was this huge board reading "Annual Shutdown Maintenance". 

I was shocked. Once in a blue moon I come to work on a Saturday and Cognizant do this to me. I quarreled with the security folks (I know nothing can be done with that) asking "Why were we not informed earlier?" They claimed the mails been sent out. I backed saying "No mails regarding this have been received..." Later, I realized I don't belong to any of the Chennai related DL's. I get mails from Coimbatore folks that there is new Parking space available or some new restaurants added in the Cafeteria but I get no updates from Chennai (Where I have been working for the past one and a half Years).

So, this day resulted to my “First working Sunday in Cognizant”

Well, no one can beat my fortitude can they?
