This post is all about NOKIA LUMIA 510 - That survived with below specs for the past 3 years
- 256 MB of RAM,
- 2.1 GB of internal storage
- 700 MHZ processor
- Most outdated Windows phone 7.8 OS
But i can still
- Tweet
- Check in
- Hear music
- Browse using the only browser IE without lags.
(Seriously without any lags)
Few More Things:
If i have bought any Android phones (at the this price point) by the time i made this purchase, I am damn sure i would have seriously regretted my choice by now.
Absolutely superb Build quality. Well its Nokia do we need to say more. But it had to be mentioned. I have tortured my phone to the core - Drenched in Rain, Dropped from insane heights, Had two bike crashes with my phone playing songs from my pocket. But no damage whatsoever. Infact the phone did not even stop playing songs after the crash. (That's absolutely brilliant).
Whenever i drop it and nearby folks shout "That's it!", I pick it up and proudly say "Its Nokia dude!" and my phone beams with Nokia Logo (Relieving my internal shock that i managed to cover).
The speed of opening apps or Working around OS is still the same from Day one! Few Apps took some time to open and few Apps opened fast and that is the case for years and there is no difference at all whatsoever. Due to too much memory, or Phone aging, nothing! (On your face Android!)
Few bad things:
Memory: They have described it only has 2 GB and that being insufficient for me should not be a con to the phone. But whenever i try to sync more songs - That message "No more space" really irritates

Apps: This is some space that i thought Microsoft would focus and blossom. When i bought lumia many argued "There are no proper Apps" and i replied them "There will be, Microsoft is working on it!" But its been years and they are still working on it! :( :(
What Next:
Lot of friends, not just friends some strangers who i interact with in Bus/Train have begged me to update for a new phone. But i seriously cannot find any reason for an upgrade.
Yes, the Apps take time to load but i am in no hurry!
There are no support for many good apps but there is always IE :)
I cannot load many songs - But i cannot always hear 8 GB of songs!
However, there are reasons why i may upgrade:
1. Completely broke (Which never looks like going to happen) - The same case why i bought this. My LG cookie was completely out and i was living with no phone.
2. My love on iPhones (Now, that's more likely to happen) - Wished to own an iPhone for a long long time and i think its about time to put an end to that dream and seriously get one. Let's see, March (Incentive/Birthday Month) is not so far!
