500 Kms with my Unicorn

Like many I am Bike enthusiasts from childhood. Though I never owned one, until last month.

 

After shifting to Coimbatore from Chennai I was in need of a bike very badly. Transportation sucks here. Can’t reach most of the places in Public transportation, especially to my office. So there I was starting to make my plan to own a bike. To be frank! that was not the moment. Ever since I learned to ride my dad’s Bajaj 4S champion at 17 I wanted to own one.

So what bike? I had a special bond with Honda Unicorn. During my days in Chennai. I used to ride my Cousin’s 7 year old Unicorn and loved it. We had a habit of reaching 110kmph every Saturday mid night in OMR though that’s not the road we to reach home after the Night show :p It had the opt Acceleration needed to ride in a city like Chennai. And still runs 50 kms with a liter of Petrol. So it was pretty obvious Unicorn was the only and the optimum choice.

So booked Unicorn on February 23rd in Dindugul Sornam Honda. They promised they will deliver my Unicorn on March 8 exactly a week before my birthday J 

I was loaded with advises on how to manage a bike. You know, I never handled such a costlier possession like bike before and those advice's did matter. Everything okay but I was asked not accelerate beyond kmph before First service. So I already knew riding it for the 500 kms at the earliest will be my first preference.

FINALLY on March 10th happened to take my Honda Unicorn for my first ride. Felt overwhelmed and couldn’t explain my feelings when I first climbed in my Unicorn to take it to nearby temple. I have ride Unicorn many times before but this particular ride was AWESOME. Then brought it Coimbatore to fulfill its real use. 

And here i am, Completed 500 kms in Coimbatore and finished First free service today. 

And, Cant wait to take it for a long ride.. (To Singanallur Bus stand from my room)!!!
