It was my hand being raised first when one of our manager came in to our team and asked "Who all interested in Joining the trip to Wayanad?". And the fun part is i had no idea about Wayanad (never even heard about it). So why did i raise my hand? You see, From my childhood i have a 100 % attendance record on tours and trips organized. Hope this answered the question :)
So the date was fixed on a fine weekend before a Monday (Frustrating Monday) which was an onsite holiday. Excitement started from the week before the trip. Planning and discussing and browsing about Wayanad, the whole week went like a month waiting for the Friday night departure.
Bus was about to leave SEZ by 12 (and my ride on my way to be on schedule made me to loose my Helmet ). Bus started on time and picked up people at their stops and rushed out of Coimbatore to reach Kerala border in just half an hour. Meanwhile dance floor was opened even before our driver ignited the Bus engine. My Playlist was on loop and made sure party went on till the early morning.
I had no idea when and why we slept after showcasing lots of moves. Thankfully, I Got up early to enjoy some beautiful scenes, when bus was climbing to the Wayanad district, Western Ghats which is 700+ meter's above sea level. Guys who were sleeping at that time in bus, have seriously missed. Wayanad is not a city or town. Its a district containing many towns. We reached Wayanad District then the Vyathri Taluk where our Resort Vythiri meadows is located. Awesome Resort it was(Except the breakfast).
I did ask people "Why are we taking Cricket bats and Shuttle bat? Will we have time to play these?" Fortunately no one listened me and the Sunday morning was awesome. We could play cricket and Shuttle in home or anywhere else but at that time in our resort, was something more fun...
The second day spot was finalized and it was time for Kuruvu island. This was considered the one of the best spots in Wayanad as i heard. So was very much excited. After an one and half hour journey from our resort reached Kuruvu Island. We should have reached by an hour but our driver took some wrong paths and somehow managed to reach. We need to cross the River Kabini on a bamboo raft to get to the main island. It was a great experience travelling in that bamboo raft though it was just for 10 mins. Then was the adventure of Crossing river by walk. It was weird and was an amazing experience. At first we all hesitated to get in water rolling our pants up, But later everyone got used to it started having fun. It was so nice trekking into to dense forest. Lunch was unplanned and happend to have in a small hotel on the way out from Kuruvu island which not even looked like a hotel. But i must admit, food there was the best we had in the trip.
Then with few stops, it was journey back to Coimbatore. We had some events inside bus and this boosted to dance till mid night. And this time each and every 49 including the bus itself danced to beats (though sometimes songs made no sense).
Well, This was an awesome trip in my life which will not go off my memory very soon...!!
